Former Barcelona player and coach Xavi could take the helm at Manchester United if Erik ten Hag is indeed sacked.

Details: According to the Daily Mail, intermediaries acting on behalf of Manchester United have reached out to the Barcelona legend twice in recent months.

Additionally, a four-person delegation led by Ineos CEO Omar Berrada visited Barcelona last Thursday. Sources within United indicate that a series of high-level meetings took place in the Catalan capital, as co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe was there to support the Ineos Britannia sailing team in their battle against New Zealand for the America’s Cup. This has only fueled speculation that Xavi could be a candidate for the Manchester United managerial position if Ten Hag is dismissed.

However, sources at United maintain that Ten Hag remains their manager, and the club does not plan to make changes in the near future as he prepares the team for their Europa League clash against Fenerbahce on Thursday.

Reminder: It was previously reported that Ten Hag would be sacked if the "Red Devils" lost to Brentford or Fenerbahce in their upcoming matches.

It has also been revealed that as a potential replacement for Ten Hag, Manchester United is considering former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzić.
