Eric Dina Ebimbe expresses his pride in the Cameroon national team
For the midfielder, Cameroon’s history speaks for itself.
Eric Dina Ebimbe makes no secret of his pride in representing Cameroon on the international stage. In an interview with Foot Mercato, he stated that Cameroon is the greatest in African football.
Despite the Indomitable Lions’ absence from the upcoming World Cup, the midfielder prefers to see this situation as an opportunity to build an even stronger squad. Eric Dina Ebimbe notably recalled Cameroon’s impressive run in the last Africa Cup of Nations.
Cameroon? It’s the best nation in Africa; there’s no better. Historically, Cameroon in Africa is the equivalent of France in Europe or Brazil and Argentina in South America. Some players play for national teams that don’t even get the chance to play in a World Cup play-off. So it’s a privilege to be Cameroonian, and to have such great people around you. A summer without the World Cup? It might be ‘a blessing in disguise’. We reached the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations without really knowing each other. I didn’t know the lads, I’d never played with them, I’d never even seen them. Yet we managed to achieve something special. When we meet again at the end of 2026, it’ll be even better, I guarantee it. We’ve got some big names coming through in the next few years.
