Equatorial Guinean football legend announces the end of his career

Emilio Nsue, the all-time leading goalscorer for Equatorial Guinea and top scorer at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, is retiring from professional football for good at the age of 36.

His last club was CF Intercity in Spain, where he played most recently. But before this final chapter, Nsue enjoyed a varied career. He represented Real Sociedad, RCD Mallorca, Middlesbrough, Birmingham City, Apollon Limassol and APOEL Nicosia.

But Emilio Nsue is now closing this major chapter of his life after more than two decades on the pitch. It was in a message that the Equatorial Guinean striker announced his decision to hang up his boots.
