One of football’s biggest transfer sagas finally ended in the summer of 2024 when Kylian Mbappé left PSG for Real Madrid. While things haven’t gone perfectly for the French forward in Spain, his former club believes they are thriving without him.

Details: PSG head coach Luis Enrique did not dwell on nostalgia for his former star, and openly admitted that the team has improved since his exit.

Quote: “Last season, I was very bold when I said we would have a better team in attack and defense. I still believe we are better in both areas, and the numbers prove it. The players took it as a challenge.

Of course, we would have liked to keep Kylian because everyone loved him, but the team has responded in an impressive way. I told you before—I don’t need a player who scores 40 goals; I need players who score collectively. That remains our goal—to keep improving,” Enrique said, as quoted by Sports Illustrated.

Reminder: Recent reports suggest that PSG has set its sights on Real Madrid’s Rodrygo as a potential target.
