England to play in Nottingham for the first time since 1909
Wembley is traditionally the home of the England national team, but occasionally, the Three Lions take their matches to different stadiums across the country. Now, a game has been scheduled at a venue where England hasn't played in over a century.
Details: According to PA News Agency, the Football Association has planned an international friendly at City Ground in Nottingham.
The final contract is close to completion, with Senegal set to be England’s opponent on June 10. The decision to move the match away from Wembley was made due to the stadium’s unavailability over the summer, as it will be hosting concerts.
Reminder: The last time City Ground hosted an England match was in 1909, when the Three Lions faced Wales in a friendly. Another match between the two teams took place at the stadium in 1941, but it is not recognized as an official fixture.
