England legend John Terry gives Mbekezeli Mbokazi his thumbs up ahead of the Bafana Bafana World Cup opening clash against Mexico
John Terry describes Mbekezeli Mbokazi as a world class player.
The England and Chelsea legend said the Bafana Bafana defender is destined for greatness in world football.
Mbokazi is with Bafana at this year's World Cup in Mexico and he carries huge expectations on his shoulders.
“I think he is a top player,” said Terry in an interview organised by SuperSport TV for the media on Wednesday.
“I think he’s actually got the potential to be one of the big stars among the defenders and young players coming through, and that can be really positive for the team.
“I really like him. I like his attitude and the mentality side of things that I see. So I’m excited to see him against some bigger and better opposition throughout this tournament.”
Mbokazi and his Bafana Bafana team-mates face Mexico in the World Cup opening match at the Estadio Azteca.
The match starts at 9pm South African time.
