England lacks a full successor to Southgate. Interim coach to lead team this autumn
It has been less than a month since Gareth Southgate resigned from the England national team, and the local football association is still searching for his successor. The Three Lions will go into September's Nations League matches with an interim coach.
According to The Telegraph, it is highly likely to be the head coach of the England youth team, Lee Carsley. He is also being considered to become the full-time manager of the Three Lions.
The Football Association of England, which earlier announced an open call for CVs for the national team head coach position, is yet to comment on the search for a successor, whether it be on a permanent or interim basis, but promises to do so once a final decision has been made.
England's first Nations League match against Ireland in Dublin is exactly one month away, and it is expected that the Three Lions' bid for the game against the Irish, as well as the Finns on 10 September in London, will be made public within two weeks.
