One of the most dazzling and charismatic footballers of the 21st century is officially hanging up his boots.

Details: 2014 World Cup winner with the German national team, Lukas Podolski, has decided to bring his phenomenal playing career to an end this coming weekend. Tomorrow's match will be the legendary striker's final appearance as a professional footballer.

However, "Prince Poldi" isn't leaving the beautiful game behind. One glorious chapter of his life seamlessly gives way to another, even more ambitious one: Podolski has officially become the full owner of Górnik Zabrze—the club of his childhood, for which he has passionately played in recent years.

Throughout his trophy-laden career, Podolski graced the pitches for European giants such as Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Inter, and Galatasaray.

Reminder: Marcelo Bielsa announced his departure from the Uruguay national team ahead of the World Cup.
