End of an era. Legend to leave Real after 13 years with the club
Real Madrid continues to bid farewell to players who have been club icons for many years. According to Madrid Universal, team captain Dani Carvajal will leave the squad at the end of the current season.
It is reported that Los Blancos' management has decided not to renew the contract of the veteran defender, with his current deal expiring on June 30. Thus, the 34-year-old will bring his long-standing career with the club to a close this summer.
Carvajal is one of the most experienced players in the current Madrid squad. Since returning from Bayer in 2013, the Spaniard has become an integral part of the team and a leader both on and off the pitch. It is noted that the player himself had hoped to stay and was looking forward to a new contract, but the management has chosen a different path.
During his time at Real, Carvajal has established himself as one of the most successful figures in the club's history. His trophy haul includes 26 titles, featuring four La Liga championships and six Champions League triumphs. The defender has also made over 440 appearances in the Madrid shirt.
