Emery wants to bring in his former charge to Aston Villa

According to TBR Football, Emery was interested in Villarreal midfielder Alex Baena, with whom he worked as manager of the "yellow submarine". It was with the arrival of the specialist that the 22-year-old player got into the main team.

Emery advised to sign Baena immediately after coming to Aston Villa in October 2022 and all this year and a half the club from Birmingham have been keeping a close eye on the player. In January 2023, the 22-year-old midfielder re-signed a contract with Villarreal that includes a €50m pay-off, but it is not yet known whether the club will demand to pay it in full.
