Aston Villa's head coach, Unai Emery, has decided to remain with his current club.

According to insider reports from The Athletic's David Ornstein, Aston Villa has extended the contract with the Spanish coach until the summer of 2027. His current contract was set to expire in June 2026.

The contract extension for Emery comes amidst rumors of interest from Bayern Munich, who are seeking a replacement for Thomas Tuchel.

After 34 matches in the English Premier League, Aston Villa is vying for a spot in the Champions League next season. Unai Emery's team currently holds fourth place, leading Tottenham by 6 points. However, Tottenham has two games in hand.

Emery took charge of Aston Villa in November 2022. Prior to that, he managed Sevilla, Villarreal, Arsenal, PSG, Valencia, and Almeria.
