Following their successful start against Ecuador, Ivory Coast are now turning their attention to their clash with Germany in Group E.

Ivory Coast will face Germany on 20 June in their second match of the ongoing World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The Elephants will go into this match full of confidence after winning their opening game against Ecuador this 15 June.

But ahead of this clash, Emerse Fae has shown his determination and that of his squad. At a press conference, the Ivorian manager first reiterated that the Elephants did not intend to settle for merely taking part in the tournament. Fae promised to beat Germany and secure Ivory Coast’s place in the next round of the competition.

“We didn’t come here to visit the United States and go home. We beat France and we’ve made a good start to this tournament against Ecuador, a very tough side.

The next match against Germany? It will be a difficult match. Germany have a wealth of experience. But we’ll go out to challenge them, win and secure our qualification.”
