The incident involving an ambulance at Bayern Munich’s training facility has now been confirmed to involve a player, contrary to earlier reports. According to Bild, goalkeeper Daniel Peretz required urgent medical attention.

On Wednesday afternoon, an ambulance was called to Bayern’s base and left shortly after with sirens blaring. It has now been revealed that Peretz complained of pain during training. The team doctor, Jochen Hahne, examined him and decided to call emergency services.

The Israeli goalkeeper has since been diagnosed with a kidney contusion, a potentially life-threatening injury. Due to the seriousness of the condition, the club doctor opted for immediate medical evacuation to minimize any risks. Peretz is currently in the hospital under observation.

This injury presents a significant challenge for Bayern, as first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is also unavailable. It is likely that Sven Ulreich will now step in to cover for both absences.
