Emergency in Munich! Bayern coach Kompany reportedly taken to hospital
Concern is growing at Bayern Munich following reports that head coach Vincent Kompany was taken to hospital on Friday. The Belgian manager had already been struggling with a viral infection, raising questions about his recovery and availability for the club's next match.
Details: According to German newspaper Bild, the 40-year-old Bayern Munich coach was transported to a Munich hospital accompanied by an emergency doctor on October 23. Reports also mentioned a helicopter landing at the club's Säbener Straße training complex. However, there is no confirmation that the helicopter transported Kompany. The precise reason for his hospital visit and his current medical condition have not been officially disclosed.

Kompany had already experienced health difficulties during the previous week. Bayern sporting director Max Eberl revealed that the coach was dealing with a viral infection and pain affecting his hip. During the 6-1 victory against RB Leipzig, the Belgian spent much of the match seated instead of actively directing his players from the touchline. His unusual behaviour had already attracted attention.
The manager subsequently missed training activities and a press conference before Wednesday's Champions League encounter with Arsenal. Assistant coach Aaron Danks handled media responsibilities while Kompany recovered at home. Despite those problems, the Belgian returned to the touchline for the 2-2 draw against Arsenal. Afterwards, he admitted that he had pushed himself too hard and had not listened carefully enough to his body's warning signs.
It's worth noting that Bild also reported a separate medical helicopter deployment at Bayern's training ground on October 20 involving a construction worker. That incident should not be confused with the reports concerning Kompany on October 23. Bayern are scheduled to face Freiburg in the Bundesliga on October 25, but the coach's availability remains uncertain until further information is released.
Reminder: Alarm before Arsenal! Kompany misses Bayern press conference because of illness.
