Spanish superclubs Real Madrid and Barcelona have attempted a bold hijack for the most promising American talent of the modern era.

Details: Real Madrid and Barcelona have renewed their serious interest in young American midfielder Cavan Sullivan, who previously agreed to join Manchester City once he comes of age. According to authoritative British outlet TEAMtalk, both Spanish giants actively sounded out the possibility of signing the rising star.

However, the La Liga powerhouses failed to lure the player away: Sullivan remains fully committed to his existing agreement with Manchester City and has complete faith in City Football Group’s global development strategy. For now, there are no signs that enticing offers from Los Blancos or the Catalan giants can alter the footballer’s plans to move to England after turning 18.

Cavan Sullivan made football history as the youngest debutant in the history of North America’s MLS, representing Philadelphia Union. The United States attacking midfielder is renowned for his phenomenal ball control, exceptional vision and polished finishing, while City’s early agreement allowed the Manchester club to move ahead of all direct competitors in the race for his signature.
