Egyptian Legend Celebrates Marmoush’s Imminent Move to Manchester City, Avoids Comparing Him to Salah

The renowned former Egypt international Mohamed Abou Trika voiced his delight over Omar Marmoush, the star of Eintracht Frankfurt, joining Manchester City soon. With talks between Frankfurt and City nearing their conclusion, Marmoush, 24, is expected to join the English powerhouses during the current winter transfer window.

Following Friday's game against Borussia Dortmund, Marmoush said goodbye to the Frankfurt supporters and is now ready to play for Manchester City under Pep Guardiola. Contract signings are anticipated in the coming days, and the official announcement is anticipated shortly.

Speaking on beIN Sports, Abou Trika praised Marmoush’s move to City, stating that training under Guardiola is a major milestone in a player's career. “Guardiola will bring out the best version of Marmoush, who possesses speed, intelligence, and goal-scoring ability. I believe he will be a valuable asset to Manchester City and a source of pride for us as Egyptians," said Abou Trika.

The former Al Ahly star also offered advice to Guardiola, recommending that Marmoush should always be allowed to play in his preferred attacking position without rotation. He also emphasized how Guardiola's experience will help Marmoush improve and achieve more.

Abou Trika explained that comparing Mohamed Salah and Marmoush is not fair when asked about it. He stressed that Salah is in a league of his own and is one of the best players in the world.

According to reports, Manchester City is ready to pay €75 million immediately, with the possibility of adding €5 million more in bonuses, to sign Marmoush. The player has been outstanding this season, scoring 20 goals and assisting 14 times in 26 games for Frankfurt in all competitions. In the Bundesliga, he is the second-highest scorer with 15 goals, just one goal behind Harry Kane of Bayern Munich, who has 16 goals.
