Egyptian Defender Mohamed Abdelmonem Continues Absence from Nice Squad Due to Injury
Nice and Egypt international Mohamed Abdelmonem will not be able to play another Ligue 1 match as he is still recovering from an injury. The 25-year-old has been sidelined with a calf muscle injury and has not played in recent weeks, including Egypt’s recent 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Coach Frank Hayes has stated that Abdelmonem has not yet fully recovered, despite expectations that he will be available for Nice's forthcoming game against Strasbourg. Abdelmonem has thus been left out of the roster for this crucial league game.
Nice will play against Strasbourg on Sunday. Nice is currently in seventh place in the Ligue 1 standings with 17 points from 11 matches.
Despite playing in seven Nice games this season, Abdelmonem has not yet scored or assisted.
