Ederson is happy at Manchester City, but does not deny the possibility of a move to Saudi Arabia
Recently, there have been increasing rumors that Manchester City’s primary goalkeeper, Ederson, might leave the team to join a club in Saudi Arabia. The Middle Eastern clubs are impressed with the Brazilian's performance and are prepared to make him a lucrative offer. One of the interested clubs is Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr. In response, City is reportedly ready to offer Ederson a significant salary increase to keep him at the club.
City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, has also expressed his desire for Ederson to stay. Following Manchester City's friendly match against Milan, Ederson himself addressed the situation. According to the Daily Mail, he stated that while he is happy at the club, no definitive decision has been made yet.
"There is no definite decision [regarding my future] at the moment," he said.
He also responded to his coach's comments:
"It was very nice to hear Pep say that. This is my eighth season with him, and I’ve experienced many good moments, but also a few bad ones.
Working with him is easy; he’s a football genius, and everyone knows it. So, it’s very nice to hear that from him."
He added:
"I am happy here, having good times with my teammates. I also enjoy being able to regain my physical form. I am very calm; everything that happens is in God’s hands."
It is noteworthy that Ederson wore the captain's armband in the match against Milan, which further underscores the coach's trust in him.
The transfer window in Saudi Arabia opened on July 17, and clubs can make purchases until October 6. In England, this period will last until August 30.
