The England national team hosted Latvia in a qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup. The home side secured a resounding 3-0 victory.

The English took the lead in the 38th minute after a stunning goal by Reece James from a direct free kick, with Harry Kane and Eberechi Eze also adding their names to the scoresheet.

For Crystal Palace's attacking midfielder, this goal was his debut for the England national team. He opened his account for the national side in his 10th match.

The England player of Nigerian descent has been playing for Crystal Palace since 2020, with his contract with the "Eagles" expiring in 2027. In the winter, Eze was a transfer target for many clubs, but he chose to remain at his current club.
