Dutch speed skater Joy Beune breaks records by gracing Playboy cover
Dutch world champion speed skater Joy Beune has made waves after appearing on the cover of Playboy, reports the Daily Mail. The issue featuring her sparked an incredible response in the Netherlands, with sales skyrocketing to 10 times the usual volume. The number of copies sold quadrupled previous records.
The overwhelming demand prompted the publishers to reprint the Playboy issue featuring Joy.
"In the 11 years that Pijper Media has been publishing our magazine, something like this has never happened," said editor-in-chief Nick Stalker.
The buzz is understandable, as the stunning blonde appears on the cover wearing nothing but fur gloves.
"That is very nice to hear. I would not have expected that so many copies would be sold. I expected a lot of criticism, but I only hear nice messages from everyone around me and that they think it's incredibly cool," Beune said, sharing her excitement.
She also revealed that the idea to pose for Playboy came from her boyfriend, Kjeld Nuis, who is also a professional speed skater.
