Durban City face TS Galaxy this evening in a Betway Premiership match without a permanent coach at the helm as PItso Dladla takes over in the interim
Durban City hosts TS Galaxy this evening without a permanent coach.
Pitso Dladla is holding the fort at the Betway Premiership after the team parted ways with coach Sinethemba Badela last week.
Durban City find themselves looking for a new man for their stay in the PSL having let go of Gavin Hunt and Badela since the season started.
It was rather alarming to see them part ways with Hunt from the onset because the former Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United gaffer had stabilised the club after they won promotion to the elite league.
Badela’s arrival was equally shocking as well given that the former Wydad Casablanca assistant coach also left Chippa United under a cloud earlier this season.
He was in charge of three games at City, where he won two and lost one and at Chippa United he only lasted two matches before leaving the club.
Badela’s arrival at Durban City was seen as sort of relief to his coaching career but he also did not last as the club issued a statement that the source of their disagreement pertained to his football philosophy.
This evening they host high-flying TS Galaxy at Chatsworth Stadium, where they will be hoping to consolidate their top of the table spot.
City are sixth with 25 points while Galaxy are a spot away with one point less.
The above makes this an interesting encounter to watch.
It starts at 7.30pm.
