The Congolese international midfielder had a mixed afternoon with Atromitos on Thursday 29 October in the Greek Cup.

Samuel Moutoussamy distinguished himself by scoring a goal against Volos. However, the DR Congo international was unable to see out the match. The Congolese midfielder was forced to come off as early as the 32nd minute. At present, the nature and severity of his injury are not yet known.

This situation comes at a crucial time for the Leopards. The DR Congo are preparing for a double-header against Sierra Leone, scheduled for 12 and 17 November, as part of the third and fourth matchdays of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Head coach Sébastien Desabre could therefore be without one of his key players for these two matches. Whilst awaiting further updates on Samuel Moutoussamy’s condition, the Congolese are hoping that his injury will not jeopardise his participation in this decisive double-header for the remainder of the qualifiers.

Samuel Moutoussamy is one of the key players in Sébastien Desabre’s national team line-up.
