Braces from Messi and Suarez ensure another triumph for Inter Miami with a crushing score
Tonight, within the framework of the third round of the MLS regular season, Inter Miami hosted Orlando City on their home turf.
David Beckham's team was deemed the favorite and managed to prove this assertion on the field from the very first minutes of the encounter.
From the stellar roster of Inter Miami, all four former Barcelona players took the field in the starting lineup, namely Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Luis Suárez, and, of course, Lionel Messi.
As early as the fourth minute of the match, Suárez managed to capitalize on a precise cross from Julian Gressel from the right flank and opened the scoring. By the eleventh minute, Gressel's accurate pass set up Suárez in a striking position inside the penalty area, where he successfully completed a brace.
Shortly after the second goal, on the 29th minute, Suárez provided an assist to Robert Taylor. The Uruguayan found himself face-to-face with the goalkeeper but opted not to dribble past him, instead delivering a pass to his teammate, who calmly placed the ball into the net.
Towards the end of the first half, Suárez could have secured a fourth contribution, completing a hat-trick, but his goal was disallowed due to offside. The teams went into halftime with a score of 3-0.
In the second half, Lionel Messi entered the fray and scored a brace within five minutes. First, after a shot from Jordi Alba in the 57th minute, opponents unsuccessfully cleared the ball from the goal line, allowing it to reach the Argentine, who deftly directed it into the net with a single touch of his chest. Just five minutes later, Suárez once again penetrated the opponent's penalty area and delivered an incredible cross to Messi, who headed the ball into the far corner of the goal.
After four notable contributions in the match, Suárez was substituted off in the 67th minute, while the other stellar players of Inter Miami played the match to its conclusion.
