Double jeopardy: Harry Maguire faces missing the World Cup after receiving a suspended prison sentence
Harry’s lawyers are already working tirelessly to ensure their client’s participation in the USA is not at risk.
Details: According to The Mirror, the participation of 33-year-old Manchester United and England centre-back Harry Maguire in the 2026 World Cup in the United States is now under serious threat.
The issue stems from a recent Greek court ruling that found Maguire guilty of causing bodily harm to another person, sentencing him to a 15-month suspended prison term for an incident that occurred six years ago.

Although Maguire has avoided jail time, obtaining a US visa is now a major challenge, especially given the country’s increasingly strict immigration policies. Some legal experts suggest Maguire could be denied a visa due to his current suspended sentence.
For their part, Harry’s legal team insists that there will be no visa issues, as they have already filed an appeal and will seek to have his conviction overturned to clear his record.
