The legendary central defender of Borussia Dortmund, Mats Hummels, will indeed leave the club this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Borussia's management has decided not to extend the contract with the 35-year-old player. He is currently exploring various options in Europe and has already declined an offer from Saudi Arabia.

Previously, it was reported that Hummels was willing to stay at the club only if head coach Edin Terzić was dismissed. However, neither will be with the team next season.

Today, it was announced that Terzić has resigned. The favorite to take over as head coach of the Yellow-Blacks is his assistant, Nuri Şahin.

In the recently concluded season, Borussia Dortmund reached the Champions League final, where they lost 0-2 to Real Madrid. Hummels was named the best player in both semifinals against PSG, and overall, he played 33 matches and scored 4 goals throughout the season.
