Done deal! Official: Yves Bissouma is an Ajax player
Amsterdam giants Ajax have completed a major deal, strengthening their midfield with a high-profile and experienced player at no cost.
Details: Ajax have officially announced the signing of a contract with 30-year-old Mali defensive midfielder Yves Bissouma. The experienced midfielder has joined the Amsterdam club as a free agent, signing a deal that runs until the summer of 2027.
Following the expiration of his previous contract, the Malian midfielder was looking for a new challenge in his career. Ajax's management moved quickly to capitalize on the situation in the market, adding power, athleticism and balance to their midfield ahead of decisive battles in the Eredivisie and on the European stage.
It should be remembered that Bissouma's European career began at French side Lille, after which he made a name for himself at Brighton in England. In the summer of 2022, the midfielder moved to Tottenham, where he made more than 100 appearances at the highest level of the English Premier League. The 30-year-old also has more than 46 appearances for the Mali national team.
