Domino effect! Aston Villa eye Chelsea defender as Konsa's replacement
Ezri Konsa's move to Arsenal has set off a real transfer domino in the Premier League.
Details: According to Sky Sports, Aston Villa have an interest in Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo as one of their potential replacement options for Ezri Konsa. The England defender is closing in on a move to Arsenal, who reached an agreement with Villa today, leaving Unai Emery with a major hole to fill in defense.
Konsa's departure comes after a protracted standoff: Villa initially demanded around £60 million for their defensive anchor, almost double Arsenal's opening valuation of £40 million, before dialogue at ownership level brought the deal over the line. Last season the 28-year-old helped the Birmingham club finish fourth in the Premier League and win the Europa League, ending a 30-year trophy drought.
Adarabioyo, a Manchester City academy graduate, joined Chelsea from Fulham on a free transfer in the summer of 2024 and has since won the Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup with the Blues. Last season the 28-year-old made 22 appearances across all competitions, and his contract at Stamford Bridge runs until the summer of 2028. It's worth noting that Transfermarkt values the defender at €16 million.
