Mamelodi Sundowns put on a spectacular display to mark their championship triumph in the South African Premier League, defeating Marumo Gallants 2-0 in their final home fixture of the season.
The star of the match was Lucas Ribeiro Costa, who netted a first-half brace. With these goals, the Brazilian forward increased his tally to 16 for the season, putting him at the top of the scoring charts and making him a leading contender for Player of the Year honors.
In a show of respect before kickoff, the Maghasi players formed a guard of honor, allowing the Sundowns champions to walk through to the delight of the home crowd.
Immediately after the final whistle, the trophy was brought onto the pitch, a piece of silverware the "Brazilians" have now held for eight consecutive years. This 15th league title is also a record in South African football history.
Head coach Miguel Cardoso dedicated this victory to the club's fans, expressing gratitude for their unwavering support throughout the campaign.
