Divine Lunga Thanks Girlfriend After Man-of-the-Match Performance for Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns' defender Divine Lunga was named the Betway Premiership man of the match for his strong performance in their 1-0 win against Stellenbosch at DHL Cape Town Stadium. After the game, the Zimbabwean left-back thanked his family and girlfriend for their constant support.

In a post-match interview with SuperSport Television, Lunga credited his solid display to the strong family support system surrounding him. "I want to thank God, my family, and my girlfriend for supporting me as well. Today’s performance was for the team. Everyone put in their energy, and we fought as a unit," Lunga said.

The former Golden Arrows player, who made a rare appearance for Sundowns, also acknowledged the importance of being prepared for opportunities, saying, "At Sundowns, everyone is always ready, so if you get an opportunity, you must be ready."

Sundowns' win, thanks to Iqraam Rayners' goal in the first half, put them three points ahead at the top of the league. Their next game is against AmaZulu FC on December 24, 2024, and then they will face Richards Bay four days later.
