Disaster for Barcelona! Dani Olmo suffers injury against PSG just days before El Clasico
Barcelona's injury nightmare continues! Hansi Flick has suffered another major setback during the Champions League showdown against Paris Saint-Germain, with Dani Olmo unable to finish the first half after picking up an injury.
Details: Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo suffered an injury during Tuesday's Champions League encounter with PSG at the Parc des Princes. Around the 26th minute, the Spanish international was seen sitting on the pitch while medical staff attended to him. Olmo was unable to continue and was replaced by Fermin Lopez. The incident occurred with the score at 0:0, forcing Hansi Flick into an unexpected early substitution. The precise nature and severity of the injury have not yet been officially confirmed.
The setback is particularly concerning given Barcelona's existing injury problems. Before travelling to Paris, the Catalan club had already been dealing with fitness concerns involving Eric Garcia, Jules Kounde and other defenders. Olmo's early departure adds another potential absence to Flick's squad during an exceptionally demanding period.
The timing could hardly be worse. Barcelona are scheduled to face Real Madrid in El Clasico on October 25, just five days after the PSG encounter. If Olmo's injury proves serious, Flick could lose an important attacking option for one of the biggest matches of the season. Fermin Lopez now has an opportunity to help Barcelona against the European champions.
It's worth noting that Barcelona entered the PSG match after winning all eleven competitive fixtures this season. Their next major challenge is El Clasico against Real Madrid. Olmo's availability will depend on medical examinations, and no confirmed recovery timetable has been announced.
Reminder: Three players out? Barcelona suffer major injury blow ahead of PSG clash.
