"Disappointed in you!" Muslim fans criticize Salah for photo with Christmas tree
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has once again come under fire from his Muslim fans after sharing traditional Christmas-themed photos on Instagram. As Christmas is a Christian holiday, the Egyptian footballer, who is Muslim, faced backlash for what some consider a deviation from his faith.
The photos show Salah, his wife, and their children posing in matching pajamas in front of a brightly decorated Christmas tree and a gingerbread figure—a typical scene for a family celebrating Christmas. However, this did not sit well with some Muslim fans, who view such behavior as contradictory to Islamic values.
"With all the warning you still go ahead and posted this shame pose of yours. May Allah guard you to the ryt part. For now on, I shall be unfollow you from all platform and also block you. You are disgraceful. I also stop to watch Liverpool match forever," read one of the comments.
This is not the first time Salah has shared similar photos. He posted a similar family picture last Christmas, which also sparked considerable criticism.
