Didn’t even realize what happened: Khusanov scores a bizarre debut goal for Manchester City

On February 8, the FA Cup Round of 32 matches continue, with League One side Leyton Orient hosting Manchester City.

The reigning Premier League champions went into halftime trailing after a comical own goal by goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.

City equalized early in the second half in unusual fashion. A powerful strike from Rico Lewis ricocheted off winter signing Abdukodir Khusanov’s head and into the net, handing the young defender his first goal for the club — without even realizing it.

It’s worth noting that Khusanov’s debut for City was far from ideal. In his first match against Chelsea, a costly defensive mistake from the Uzbek defender led to a conceded goal.
