Did South Africa make it? The U-20 Africa Cup of Nations finalists are set

On Thursday, May 15, two semifinal matches of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations took place, and the finalists of the tournament have been determined.
Details: South Africa edged past Nigeria in their clash with a narrow victory. The only goal of the match came in the 66th minute, courtesy of a precise strike from Thilani Smith. This marks only the second time in history that South Africa has reached the final of the tournament.
The team now has a real shot at claiming their first-ever U-20 AFCON title, having never won it before. So far, the South Africans have one silver and one bronze medal to their name.
In the second semifinal, Morocco faced Egypt. For a long stretch, the score remained locked at 0-0, until another solitary goal decided the outcome in the 77th minute. The match-winner was netted by Jones El-Abdellaoui. Morocco held onto their lead and punched their ticket to the final.
This is also their second final appearance in tournament history. Unlike South Africa, Morocco have previously lifted the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations trophy.
The final will take place on Sunday, May 18, with kickoff scheduled for 20:00 Central European Time.
