As The Touchline notes, the Portuguese superstar’s page still features old photos with his former girlfriend Irina Shayk — despite the fact that more than a decade has passed since their breakup. Specifically, we’re talking about posts from the summer of 2013: in one, the couple is seen posing together on vacation, and in another, they’re visiting Universal Studios in Singapore. The presence of these vacation snaps of Ronaldo and Shayk on his social media in June 2013 was also confirmed by media reports at the time.
This discovery is especially spicy right now. Just a few days ago, on August 11, Cristiano officially tied the knot with Georgina Rodriguez. The couple held a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, after nearly a decade together. The wedding was officially confirmed by the footballer’s representatives, and the newlyweds themselves shared a photo of their wedding rings.
Against this backdrop, the old posts with Irina have taken on a whole new life. Of course, the presence of decade-old photos doesn’t really mean anything — Ronaldo simply never bothered to delete some of his older content. But fans were quick to notice the amusing contrast: the Portuguese forward has just entered a new chapter as Georgina’s husband, while deep in his Instagram there remains a digital reminder of his past relationship.
Interestingly, one of the posts shown in the screenshot is dated June 25, 2013, and was captioned by Ronaldo himself as a vacation photo. The second was published on July 3 of the same year during their Singapore trip. So, more than 13 years later, these images are still grabbing attention — now in the wake of one of football’s most talked-about weddings.
