Did Barcelona really pay only €5 million for Pedri? Las Palmas president reveals true amount David Ramos/Getty Images

Back in early 2019, a then-16-year-old Pedri joined Barcelona from Las Palmas for an initial fee of €5 million. However, over time, the actual transfer cost has significantly increased.

Details: Las Palmas president Miguel Ángel Ramírez reminded that the deal included various performance-based conditions, which have now resulted in a substantial financial boost for the club. A significant payment has recently arrived in their accounts.

Quote: “I believe the total amount is somewhere between €23 million and €24 million under these conditions. We reached a great agreement for a player who had never played professional football before. Barcelona took a gamble,” Ramírez told Diario Sport.

Reminder: Earlier this year, Barcelona extended Pedri’s contract, with his current deal running until 2030.
