During the Bundesliga pre-match press conference ahead of the Bochum fixture, Bayern's head coach Vincent Kompany and sporting director Christoph Freund both spoke positively about Neuer. Kompany emphasized that the Barcelona loss was a collective result, not solely Neuer’s responsibility. Freund echoed this sentiment, maintaining that Neuer’s quality remains indisputable and predicting that his performances will soon change the narrative.

“He remains exceptional. We’re very glad he’s in goal for us. There will be many games where we’ll speak differently about our goalkeeper because he has won matches for us. We’re entirely confident in him,” Freund added.
