France's head coach Didier Deschamps has announced the squad for Les Bleus’ upcoming UEFA Nations League matches in October. The French team will face Israel on October 10 and Belgium on October 14.

One notable absence from the squad is experienced Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard. When asked by the media why Pavard was not called up, Deschamps offered a brief explanation:

“Benjamin Pavard plays, but not in every game,” as quoted by TMW during a Thursday press conference.

Deschamps was also asked whether he is monitoring Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu.

“Of course, I follow all the players, including Kalulu. I’ve been doing so since he was at AC Milan. Last season was difficult for him, but joining Juventus is a good move for him," said the French coach.

The 23-player squad will not feature Kylian Mbappé, who is sidelined with an injury sustained while playing for Real Madrid. Deschamps will also be without Ferland Mendy and Adrien Rabiot, both of whom are dealing with health issues.
