A stunning upset rocked Matchday 19 of the German Bundesliga as Bayern Munich suffered their first defeat of the season in the competition.
Vincent Kompany’s side could not handle Augsburg on home turf. Ito’s opener for Bayern was answered late in the game by precise strikes from Arthur Chaves and Massango for the visitors.
It’s worth noting that Augsburg snapped Bayern’s second-longest unbeaten streak in Bundesliga history, which had stretched to 27 consecutive matches. Interestingly, the record streak of 53 games also belongs to Bayern. Even more remarkable—Augsburg were the ones to end that run as well, back in May 2015, when they claimed their first-ever win over Bayern in Munich.
