A few days before the start of the Club World Cup, a supercomputer has made its prediction for the tournament's outcome.
Details: The supercomputer calculated the percentage chances for each team to advance to the round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and final, as well as their probability of winning the tournament.
According to Opta, the computer ran 10,000 simulations, with the company's analytical model using this data to generate a final forecast.
The result: Mamelodi Sundowns have a 47.1% chance of reaching the round of 16, suggesting the team is likely to finish second in Group F, trailing only Borussia Dortmund but ahead of Fluminense and South Korea's Ulsan Hyundai.
The "Brazilians" also have a 13% chance of making the quarterfinals, 2.8% for the semifinals, a modest 0.6% chance to reach the final, and just 0.1% probability of lifting the trophy.
Tournament favorites:
- PSG — 18.5% chance to win,
- Manchester City — 17.8%,
- Bayern — 12.8%.
