Mamelodi Sundowns will be the only South African team at the Club World Cup, and within the 'Brazilians' camp, they are fully aware of the weighty responsibility that comes with this mission.
Details: Club president Tlhopie Motsepe, discussing Mamelodi Sundowns' objectives for the Club World Cup, made it clear that he harbors no illusions, yet he hopes the team won't be there just to make up the numbers.
Quote: "We are going there to compete, but also to show what Africans are capable of. If we return and people say, 'Wow, do you remember that team from South Africa? Remember how they played?'—for me, that would be truly exciting. That will be a success," Motsepe told ESPN in an interview.
Reminder: Earlier, head coach Miguel Cardoso also stated that his team is one of the strongest on the continent.
