Details: Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi made it crystal clear during the club’s pre-season tour of New Zealand and Australia: only players who are happy to play for the club and proud to wear its shirt will remain in the squad. “Whoever doesn’t want to stay, who isn’t happy or proud to be here, must leave,” the manager declared.
Special attention was paid to the situation surrounding Lucas Bergvall. De Zerbi admitted he has yet to speak to the Swedish midfielder about his future, but plans to do so in the coming days.
The coach emphasized he considers Bergvall a major talent and would be happy to keep him at the club. However, if the player wants to leave, the club—together with Johan Lange and Vinai Venkatesham—will look for an appropriate solution.
