De Zerbi discussed the potential extension of his contract with Brighton

The Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club head coach, Roberto De Zerbi, revealed ongoing discussions with the club's management regarding a potential extension of his contract. However, specifics on this matter have yet to be finalized.

"I feel very comfortable at Brighton, and my relationship with the management is excellent. We are in talks about a new contract, but as of now, it's still distant from being signed," quoted the well-known football insider Fabrizio Romano.

De Zerbi has been at the helm of Brighton since September 2022. Under his guidance in the first season, the Seagulls secured a commendable sixth place in the English league, earning them a spot in the Europa League.

In the secondary European club football tournament, Brighton secured an early qualification from their group. In the final fixture, they will contend for group leader status against Marseille on December 14th. In the Premier League, the blue and white are currently positioned at eighth place.

Previously, De Zerbi had successful spells with Sassuolo and later worked with Shakhtar Donetsk, where he assumed the role of head coach in 2021. However, he terminated his contract with Shakhtar in the summer of 2022 due to the conflict situation in Ukraine.

Earlier reports indicated interest from Real Madrid in the services of the Italian coach.
