After leaving Manchester United in the summer of 2023, David de Gea remains a free agent. However, during the winter transfer window, there was potential interest from Nottingham Forest, who were in search of a goalkeeper.

According to The Athletic, the Spanish goalkeeper caught the attention of Nottingham Forest, who were looking to strengthen their goalkeeping options despite having former Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner and ex-Benfica shot-stopper Odysseas Vlachodimos.

However, the focus shifted to Strasbourg goalkeeper Matz Sels, and Nottingham Forest signed him on the last day of the transfer window for £5.5 million.

De Gea spent 12 years at Manchester United, playing 545 matches, conceding 590 goals, and keeping 190 clean sheets.

Earlier, we reported that another former Manchester United player, Jesse Lingard, might find employment in South Korea.
