The absence of a club for seven months could push former Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard to a desperate move.

According to Sky Sports, the 31-year-old Englishman is close to a move to the South Korean club FC Seoul. It is reported that Lingard has agreed to a two-year contract, with the possibility of extending it for another year.

The midfielder will arrive in South Korea to finalize the deal in the coming days. It's worth noting that the transfer window in this Asian league is open until March 8.

Previously, Lingard could have ended up at Saudi club Al-Shabab, but the club did not manage to complete the midfielder's transfer.

Lingard has been a free agent since leaving Nottingham Forest in the summer. Earlier reports suggested that due to the inability of Lingard's agents to find him a new club for six months, Lingard changed his representatives.

In the fall, the 31-year-old Englishman trained with another Saudi club, Al-Ittihad, led by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
