De Bruyne's replacement has been found. Manchester City want to sign Simons next summer

Kevin De Bruyne's contract with Manchester City is set to expire at the end of the current season, and there are no agreements for an extension. With interest from Saudi Arabian clubs in the 33-year-old Belgian, City has begun searching for his replacement, with Dutch talent Xavi Simons emerging as the likely candidate.

Details: According to Christian Falk of Bild, Manchester City is prepared to buy Simons' contract from Paris Saint-Germain by the summer of 2025. However, the English champions could face competition from Liverpool and Bayern Munich, who are also interested in the young midfielder. Simons has been delivering impressive performances since joining RB Leipzig on loan. The Dutchman, whose contract is owned by PSG, has expressed his desire to leave the French capital and move to the Premier League.
RB Leipzig would prefer to keep Simons permanently, but they are unlikely to match the offers from top clubs. According to Transfermarkt, Simons' contract is valued at €80 million, making him the most expensive player in the Dutch national team.
Reminder: Kevin De Bruyne joined Manchester City in 2015 from Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg. Over the years, he has become one of the club's key players, with 388 appearances and 103 goals to his name.
Xavi Simons, on the other hand, is in his second consecutive season on loan at RB Leipzig. Last season, he scored ten goals and provided thirteen assists in 43 matches.
