De Bruyne hopes to return to the field before the New Year

In Manchester City, they're anticipating the return of their leader to the field very soon. Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne shared his updates on returning to the football pitch.

"Everything is going very well. I had the surgery, and it went great. I can say I'm almost fully recovered.

I had a really serious injury, but we're approaching my return. I think it will happen closer to the New Year. I'm doing fine, and I hope to get back on the field soon," - said the 32-year-old Belgian, as reported by City Xtra.

It's worth recalling that De Bruyne sustained his injury during the first round match of the English Premier League against Burnley. The footballer underwent surgery on his knee ligaments. Earlier reports suggested his recovery might take around 4 months, indicating he might not play in 2023.

Additionally, the next match for City will be against Urawa Reds in the Club World Cup semifinals scheduled for Tuesday.
