David Beckham endured 20 years of pain before surgery for old injury suffered in South Africa

Inter Miami owner David Beckham was forced to undergo surgery to fix an issue that first arose more than 20 years ago, according to the Mirror. The report notes that Beckham was struggling with excruciating pain in a wrist he had broken many years ago.
The injury dates back to 2003, when Beckham suffered it during a friendly match between England and South Africa. The football star took an awkward fall on the pitch and was rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment.
But 22 years later, an X-ray revealed the problem had never truly been resolved. Beckham turned to specialists after the pain—which had plagued him for years, albeit less intensely—became unbearable.
It was discovered that a screw remained in Beckham's forearm, originally inserted to fix the initial injury, but it had failed to dissolve as intended over time.

David’s wife, Victoria Beckham, shared a post-surgery photo of him on Instagram. Judging by her update, the procedure was a success.
