Dani Alves' wife speaks out for the first time after rape charges against him are dropped
Joana Sanz, the wife of former Barcelona star Dani Alves, has spoken out for the first time about her feelings regarding the rape case that was investigated against her husband. She wrote a post on her Instagram page after the court dropped all charges against Alves.
Joana decided to support her husband during the scandal, despite facing immense criticism herself, although she initially filed for divorce after the news of Alves' rape accusation came out. Now she has decided to express everything she felt during the trial of the former footballer.
"I was singled out, insulted, threatened and persecuted for two years. As if I were the one in the dock. Despite so much media/public damage, I am still standing, not lacking work as so many wanted it to happen, faithful to my beliefs and defending what I think without being intoxicated by others. I invite you to stop venting your hatred on people you know nothing about. To get informed and educated, so you don't have to bite your tongue, which sometimes poisons," Sanz stated.
