Matches to predict
- Egypt vs Nigeria: Nigeria to win in regular time
Both teams lost in the semifinals. However, the Nigerians took their match beyond 90 minutes, eventually falling to Morocco in a penalty shootout. Egypt suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat, failing to show much attacking threat. Prior to that, both sides had displayed solid football, especially Nigeria.
They secured the maximum nine points in the group stage, thrashed Mozambique 4-0 in the round of 16, and convincingly beat Algeria 2-0. Egypt collected seven points in their group. In the knockout stage, they overcame Benin 3-1 in extra time and defeated Ivory Coast 3-2.
We believe Nigeria has the edge to win this match, and we suggest placing a bet on that outcome.
- Senegal vs Morocco: Draw in regular time
Both teams have been very pragmatic throughout the tournament. Each collected seven points in the group stage. Senegal beat Sudan 3-1 in the round of 16, then overcame Mali 1-0 and Egypt 1-0. As for Morocco, in the knockout rounds they won 1-0 against Tanzania in the round of 16, then defeated Cameroon 2-0 in a tough match, and advanced past Nigeria via penalties.
Thus, the final will feature two teams unlikely to take unnecessary risks, especially in the championship match. We expect the game to extend beyond 90 minutes and suggest betting on a draw in regular time.
