Bad news has arrived from A Coruña. Marc Casadó's promising loan spell at Deportivo has been interrupted in the worst possible way.
Details: According to Vibes Foot, Casadó has undergone surgery on a fracture of his right collarbone. The midfielder picked up the injury during Sunday's match against Real Betis and was operated on today at the HM Modelo hospital in A Coruña.
Deportivo confirmed in an official medical report that the operation was performed by traumatologist Rafael Arriaza, and the length of Casadó's absence will depend on his recovery process. Fractures of this kind typically keep players out for one to two months, so the Galician club faces a significant spell without one of its summer leaders. The timing is particularly cruel for the 22-year-old Spaniard: after falling down the pecking order at Barcelona, he joined newly promoted Deportivo on loan until June 2027 with a €30 million buy option, determined to relaunch his career as a regular starter. Casadó came through La Masia after joining Barcelona in 2016, captained the club's under-19 side and went on to make 75 first-team appearances for the Blaugrana, winning two La Liga titles, a Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups along the way. His injury also deals a blow to Deportivo's ambitions, as the club has enjoyed an encouraging return to the top flight and the midfielder had quickly become a key figure in their engine room.
It's worth noting that Casadó was also on the radar of Saudi Arabian clubs this summer, but chose Deportivo to stay in La Liga and continue his development in Spain.
